ways to increase traffic to your website

Ways to Increase Traffic To Your Website 2019

The best ways to increase traffic to your website from organic traffic is to increase the number of pages on your website that can rank for your important keyword terms. Look at where you can add new category pages, new blog posts, or new pieces of attractive content (visuals, quizzes, etc) to target specific keywords.

48 Ways to Increase Traffic To Your Site in 2019

1. Optimize Old Content

ways to increase traffic to your website

Because you are tracking your keyword rankings (you are, right? If you’re not, use SEMrush), you can find the keywords that you rank near the bottom of the first page and go add useful content to those pages to help them rank better. Google also prefers updated and new content over old stale content.

2. Launch New Products

A great way to attract new users to your company or website is to launch products that meet their needs. The great part is that you can often charge for these as well and make money will getting new users into your full conversion funnel.

3. Create Online Courses

Online cource

The great thing about the Internet is that you can publish any type of content you want. By creating longer-form content like courses that are targeted around both user needs and specific keyword phrases (don’t forget keyword research!), you can drive more traffic to your site and convert them into email addresses that you can then take down your funnel.

Plus, online course websites exist in plenty so you can put them on places like to further your reach.

4. Write Guest Posts

By using a site like SimilarWeb, you can find sites related to yours. If they have your audience, you can usually get content onto their site that helps them build traffic while at the same time getting access to their new audience.

5. Accept guest posts

Similarly, many sites want links for SEO purposes and access to your customers. If they’re not a direct competitor, let them guest post on your site! Then they are invested in your company and will promote the content that they’ve produced, which also gets you in front of their own audience. Double win!

6. Launch Infographics

If you have a designer in your company or can find one online, create useful graphics that tell a story and help people see your content in a new way. Do outreach for links, promote on Pinterest, etc.

7. Give Podcast Interviews

Podcasting is HUGE these days, and one of the best ways to grow a podcast audience is to invite influential people onto your podcast. Think about it like audio version guest posts. So, get one or two podcasts under your belt (or launch your own) then start targeting podcast producers to get onto their shows.

8. Social advertising

Social advertising on Facebook, Twitter, and other networks is still relatively cheap today as compared to Adwords. Many of them also allow you to segment down by demographics or target by keywords so that you hit your ideal audience.

9. PPC

PPC is usually best used for conversion-oriented keywords, which is great because it gets you a new audience that is also ready to convert.

10. Create and Sell Courses

What better way to show your expertise and get people reading all of your content than to teach what you already know? If you have a craft, create a course to teach it then sell it on places like Udemy while simultaneously selling it on your site from a page targeted towards a high volume keyword for SEO.

11. Create Pinterest boards

Pinterest is a super-strong domain and your Pinterest boards can rank very well. Do your typical keyword research for your website, then take some of those keywords and target them on Pinterest. A pro tip is to use your other online resources (website, Instagram, etc) to get them indexed faster and ranking better.

Pintrest boards

12. Promote pins on Pinterest

In this day and age, it’s not just enough to create content and expect it to rank and drive traffic. Rankings are influenced by engagement stronger than ever before, so use some budget to promote pins on Pinterest to your target audience.

13. Partnerships

Especially in B2B spaces, partnerships can be gold for customer acquisition. Build out referral programs with complementary companies to yours and try to funnel some of their traffic back to your site, either through website mentions or even their email marketing.

14. Link acquisition

This feels like an old school tactic, but it’s still true that the more links you have to your site, the better your site will rank. So acquire links to your site from content, from relevant resource pages on other sites, and from outreach that you do.

Ways to Drive Traffic To Your Site

15. Promote content via Outbrain/Taboola

Content promotion is so cheap these days that you’d be silly not to do it. I know people with content sites making literally thousands of dollars a day all from promoted content.

16. Create satellite websites

If your main website is around one niche yet you operate in many niches, you can build out websites specifically targeted at those other niches and use them to funnel traffic to your other sites. You need to disclose that you own those other sites, but this is a great way to spread the organic reach.

17. Speed up your website

A fast site not only converts better but on a big site, you will also get more organic traffic because the search engines are able to crawl your site faster and find more content. Start with switching hosts then optimizing your code, all while making sure you are using aggressive caching and a content delivery network (CDN).

Content promotion is so cheap these days that you’d be silly not to do it. I know people with content sites making literally thousands of dollars a day all from promoted content.

18. Do new keyword research

If you’re really struggling to increase traffic to your site, go do new keyword research to get new content ideas, then go back to point 1 above and create new content!

19. Target the longtail of keywords for SEO

If you don’t have a very strong website, you can target longer tail keywords (<50 searches a month) which are often much easier to rank for. From this, you can start building up a base of content that you can then use to earn links and propel rankings for more competitive terms.

20. Target HackerNews/Reddit/relevant forums with content

If you can get content or a product to go hot on a site like Hacker News, Reddit, or ProductHunt you can literally get tens of thousands of visitors and often signups and sales. I (John) personally make over $70k from my site sitting on the first page of ProductHunt for a day, and I’ve seen Reddit drive tens of thousands of visits to sites.

Ways to Drive Traffic To Your Site

21. Run competitions/giveaways

One of the best ways to build an email list and therefore a new audience is through giving away high-value items and incentivizing your entrants to share as well in order to get more entries. I use the Kingsumo Giveaways plugin for this.

22. Speak at conferences

If you enjoy speaking, conferences can be a great way to get in front of a targeted audience. If you encourage them to tweet about it (put your Twitter handle on the bottom of every slide), you also get in front of their social media audience.

Ways to Drive Traffic To Your Site

23. Advertise at conferences

While speaking is the best way to get in front of your audience at conferences, advertising is second best. You can leverage advertising for brand recognition, offer discounts to those at the conference, get links from people doing roundups, and more. It’s a big win especially if you can tie revenue directly back to your company.

24. Free swag at conferences

I have constantly been amazed at how well quality swag works for advertising your brand, and what better place to give away swag than at conferences to your customers? You’ll build brand recognition and goodwill.

25. Create content for Slideshare specifically

Slideshare is its own content social network. By creating content for Slideshare specifically and promoting it, you can also land on the popular content sections of their homepage which drive great traffic. Make sure you link back to your site from Slideshare too.

26. Create videos for YouTube

If you can create videos in a cost-effective manner, YouTube is a great distribution platform. It takes time to build the channel but has a huge audience if done well.

27. Run YouTube Ads

Can’t create videos, but there are videos on YouTube that your target audience watches? You can run YouTube videos.

Youtube ads

28. Run webinars

Webinars can drive a new audience for you when you invite guests or do advertising, that has an audience that they will promote your webinar too. Try to bring on guests who already have a large audience.

29. Use HARO to acquire contributors

Help A Reporter Out is a great way to find great sources for stories you are writing. While this won’t directly get you a new audience, by including their quotes and tagging them on social media you can access their audience.

30. Teach a class

Teach people how to do what you do, put your content on Slideshare, rinse, repeat.

31. Mentor a startup

Mentoring startups is a great way to build goodwill within your industry. Often you can also then get guest posts or leverage their name to get content elsewhere or to be quoted as an expert/source.

32. Sponsor Meetups is one of the most popular websites online for organizing groups of people to get together. Many of them accept sponsors, who do things like give free meeting space or pay the bar tab. This can be a great way to get your company or product in front of your ideal target audience.

33. Do outreach to get included in email newsletters

Some companies do daily, weekly, or monthly newsletters that curate content from around their industry, and many of these have a lot of subscribers. If you have content that fits their audience, reach out to them and see if they’ll include your article in their next edition.

email newsletters

34. Add “Share Triggers” To Your Content

In my experience, content largely succeeds or fails based on one factor:

Whether or not the content has Share Triggers.

What are Share Triggers?

They’re things you include in your content that push people to share it.

A lot of these principles were first discovered by behavioral scientists like Dr. Jonah Berger, Dr. Katherine Milkman and Jure Leskovec.

And they’ve proven in the lab what I discovered through trial-and-error:

When you include Share Triggers in your content, people are significantly more likely share and link to it.

For example:

One of the most powerful Share Triggers is Social Currency.

Social Currency is the idea that we share things that make us look good. And this Share Trigger is a large part of the reason that The Shrinking Dollar infographic I mentioned earlier did so well.

35. Dominate Organic Search

Fighting to claim our share of organic search rankings is the first step in every piece of content we produce.
Creating evergreen content that is updated regularly is one of the easiest ways to keep new users coming back to your site. We have some posts that are over two years old that still hold number one rankings on Google.

Tip 1: Use a keyword research tool like Moz or Ahrefs to find out what competitors are ranking for, then create similar content that is more robust. Keyword tools tell you exactly what a URL ranks for and how people are finding it, so there’s no reason to publish content hoping it will work. Using a research tool is by far the easiest way to decide what type of content to produce.

36. Reduce Your Bounce Rate

A high bounce rate damages your site’s pageviews, conversions… and it can even hurt your SEO.

(In fact, thanks to Google’s RankBrain algorithm, bounce rate is now a super important ranking signal).

That’s the bad news.

The good news is that improving your bounce rate is insanely easy.

I walk you through the entire process in this short video:

37. Promote Blog Posts and Videos on Quuu

Quuu is a dead-simple way to get people to promote your content on social media.

All you need to do is submit your best content…

…and they’ll ask influencers to share it on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more.

I recently promoted one of my posts on Quuu. And got a handful of shares from influential people in the digital marketing space:

38. Landing Pages

Looking at the entire behaviour flow of the user is how best to sell your business.

A lot depends on where the user lands after finding your website.

Sending people to a page that makes sense based on how they found the website in the first place has a tremendous impact on if they convert to the action you want them to take.

Sending people to product pages that sell or pages that have a high likelihood of filling out a form can garner strong results based on the actions you want the user to make.

Any landing page should be relevant with a clear call to action and with a focused goal. It’s often best to go with a simple and straightforward design

mobile landing page

39. Facebook Groups

Facebook Groups

Facebook groups are filled with people looking to create and exchange information about specific topics and providing them with this information
is a very powerful way to drive traffic to a blog.

Join a few groups related to your niche, then establish a reputation as a thought leader in the space. Once you’ve done that, post a few links in the group.

Tip 1: Engage in insightful conversations with group members before posting links to your content. Spammers are easy to spot, and you’ll likely be
called out for it if you don’t provide real value to the groups.

Tip 2: Actively engage with members who respond to your post. When Facebook’s EdgeRank algorithm sees a high level of engagement, it considers
the post highly relevant and will show the post to more members of the group.

40. Use a “Question Analyzer” To Create Insanely Useful Content

This strategy is an AWESOME way to make your content better.

(As you know, the better content = more traffic)

All you need to do is:

  1. Find questions that your target audience asks online.
  2. Answer those questions in your content.

Here’s how to do it…

First, use a tool like Buzzsumo’s Question Analyzer or Answer the Public to find questions that people ask:

Then, either create entire posts to answer these questions…

…or incorporate the answers into your content.

41. Email Marketing

Email Marketing to increase traffic
Traffic is worthless to me unless it converts.

I would much rather have 10,000 visitors per month with 1,000 that convert than to have 100,000 visitors per month with only 500 converting.

With that said, my advice is rather unorthodox in the internet marketing space, but here it is… the absolute BEST source of qualified traffic for me has been direct mail.

Yes, it’s expensive, but if you have a good list then it will pay for itself many times over.

Here’s what I do: I take a sales letter pitching my products and services and send it to my leads.

Then in the same mailing I include another sales letter promoting a free download that they can get by visiting a specific URL.

Nearly every single person who receives that letter ends up going to the URL.

They see a high-priced offer and then the ability to get something for free that’s highly relevant to them and they take it.

From there, I have an autoresponder that continually brings them back to my site, getting more qualified traffic.

It’s insanely effective.

42. Domain Authority

Increase your site’s domain authority so that it ranks higher in Google search.

This makes it more likely to be seen by people when they search for keywords related to your content.

The top 3 positions in a Google search is where most of the search traffic goes.

You can increase your site’s domain authority by building backlinks to your site from other sites with high domain authorities through a variety of strategies, such as guest posting, earning spots on lists, or creating content that people like to link back to (such as a valuable resource for niche industries).

43. Video Marketing

According to research videos are more popular than plain text content.

People love videos; videos helps an audience to understand the concept immediately.

Create informative videos, product promotion videos, and you can publish it on your website along with all of your social media platforms too.

Nowadays many brands are creating their own YouTube channel to create and promote their videos.

You may ask your client for better feedback through video, and you can share it.

44. Remarketing

Once you’ve accomplished having someone visit your site, it can be really effective to use remarketing to target them.

This can be done by using cookies with your website visitors, which will allow you to follow them online with ads and remind them of your business.

It’s all about the follow-up and staying relevant.

These six inbound marketing strategies can help customers find your business online and build an excited and loyal fan base.

45. Improve Your Organic Click-Through-Rate

I have some good news:

If you want more traffic from Google, you DON’T need higher rankings.

Instead, you can focus on improving your click-through-rate (CTR).

For example, let’s say you rank #3 for your target keyword. And your CTR is 4%.

And let’s say that you double that CTR to 8%.

Well, you just doubled your organic traffic… without improving your rankings.

But wait, there’s more…

CTR is now an important ranking signal in Google’s algorithm.

So when you get a higher CTR, you’ll ALSO improve your search engine rankings.

SERP CTR rankings

So… how do you actually improve your CTR?

Here are a few tips that work great:

  • Add a number to your title (like “21” or “98%”)
  • Write a compelling meta description
  • Test different titles and see which one gets the best CTR
  • Use titles that are highly emotional
  • Include your keyword in your URL

46. Steal Your Competitors’ Traffic Sources

Imagine that you could see the EXACT places that send your competitors traffic.

That would be a goldmine, right?

Well, your competitors aren’t about to send you their Google Analytics password.

Fortunately, you don’t need it.

You can see all of their top traffic sources for free with SimilarWeb.

SimilarWeb not only shows you a sweet overview of a site’s traffic…

47: Find More Keywords With “Keywords Everywhere”

Keyword research is THE most important part of SEO.

Question is:

How do you find untapped keywords that everyone and their mom doesn’t already know about?

Keywords Everywhere.

keywords everywhere homepage

Keywords Everywhere is a Chrome extension that gives you keyword ideas, well…everywhere.

Once you install the extension, the next time you do a Google search, you’ll see search volume and CPC data on that keyword:

keyword data

Or the next time you’re shopping for a toothbrush on Amazon — BOOM — you see keyword data on the terms that Amazon suggests:

48. Content Transformation

Get More Traffic From Your Blog Posts With “Content Transformation”

Content Transformation is simple:

You simply convert one of your blog posts into another format (like an ebook, video, infographic or podcast).

User Retention

Once you’ve attracted your customers to your site, whether to a piece of content via social or a conversion page via SEO, they’ll often leave your site and come back a few times before they actually convert. Sometimes they’re doing research, sometimes they get distracted by other sites, and sometimes they’re just not ready to buy or give you the information you so badly need from them to drive your business forward.

On many occasions, it might appear to the workers that safety training videos are being provided to them only for fulfilling some statutory specifications. They might think that types of health and safety videos are actually a part of an organizational need rather than an essential part of the training. It is of prime importance to provide some specific examples of health and safety induction on how the employees will be benefitted so as to eliminate this sort of belief.

Video clips will be the best way to do this. For instance, a medication production company might show genuine video footage in which the lab workers are at the risk of getting infected by live viruses in case they do not stick to certain specifications. In this way, the learners are able to comprehend the fact in their sub-conscious mind that they could be more secure by taking part in the health and safety induction video program.

2. It is possible to impart health and safety induction video even in far-off places

On many occasions, employees working in far-off locations like any industrial facility or sea-based oil rig ought to get the training on safety regulations. In the majority of the cases, it will not be a sensible idea to gather all these workers in a classroom for showing them the safety procedures. However, online lessons which are based on videos will be the ideal solution to this problem since it is possible to access them at any place, on any device, and also according to one’s convenient time.

Video clips are utilized even in the mining sectors for imparting training to employees on safety procedures. For this, it will be a smart idea for the company to develop a curriculum which is actually video-based for workers working in the mines in far-off locations so that they can access all these videos on their mobile gadgets. In this way, it is possible to a great extent to deliver top-quality safety training videos to the employees. Apart from this, it also helps in solving another significant issue - given that the majority of the employees were not literate these video-based curricula were effectual in training them in the best possible way.

3. It is possible to impart training to workers of all education levels

It is a fact that lots of employees working in the manufacturing industries out there are not properly educated, and consequently, they might find it rather difficult to understand what a “regular“ e-learning course wants to deliver them. However, it is possible to overcome this issue by making use of induction videos for new employees. These video lessons are visual in nature which will make those the appropriate tool for demonstrating the safety lessons. There is no need to be a college graduate in order to understand the contents of a safety training video.

4. The language will not prove to be an obstacle

It is a fact that we are living in an age which is globalized and many organizations are being shifted to foreign countries throughout the globe. This generates the requirement for providing training to the workers in a common language so that all are able to understand the lessons (given that many of them are speaking in different languages in different countries on the planet); otherwise, the query, “What is health and safety induction videos?” will creep up in their minds. However, this problem can be solved easily by providing them with video lessons without any audio which will overcome the hurdle of linguistic problems and deliver the safety procedures in an effectual manner.

For instance, while making use of any video-based lesson for demonstrating how to deal with a blow torch meticulously, one can make use of a “mute” video clip. This will help to demonstrate all the necessary steps to the workers irrespective of the language spoken by them.

5. Health and safety videos in the workplace are inexpensive

It is the fact that videos are quite inexpensive to produce, and quite simple as well. There are lots of companies out there which impart health and safety induction video without shelling out much money at all. It will be a smart idea to produce a sequence of short video clips for the workers with each of them showcasing a particular safety procedure that workers should follow while executing their jobs, for example, while repairing electric cables. The company can also create any playlist of these videos on the YouTube channel which will make sure that these are easily accessible by the employees out there. You simply need to capture these videos using your mobile device, and that’s all!

Being a responsible employer, it is your duty to ensure the safety of your workers in the best possible way. This is possible by making sure that your workplace is risk-free where employers can perform the task without any risk of getting injured or sick. Try to take advantage of these video clips to the fullest so as to deliver safety measures to your workers effectively.

Low competitive keywords are there to improve organic traffic. There are thousands of keywords you will get by using these two tools.

high AdSense CPC

Keep it simple:

You can make a lot of money through this. You will get after each and every click and that is called CPC. The counts of visitors and popularity play an important role here. You can increase the Google AdSense CPC and increase the overall revenue without any hassle. You can use the most relevant and required keywords from the above. Your content should be attractive and logical. Pure content can attract and gather visitors. You can also group keywords according to your particular topic. You will have to smartly use those keywords in your content wherever needed. There are many bloggers who continuously add keywords in the content without thinking much about the consequences. But irrelevant and illogical activity cannot give you profit. You will have to act smart and do your work accordingly.

Which Adsense ads pay the most?

In addition to picking the best niche for Adsense, you also have options as to which ad type to show. The options are: 1) text & display 2) matched content 3) in-feed and 4) in-article.

In my own experiments, I’ve found higher click through rates with native in-article ads. Those ads perform the best on any of my sites.

The in-article ads will naturally blend with your content and display midway through your blog post. I like these types of ads because they are contextual and usually receive a good amount of clicks.

Sidebar ads are not as good since we are already trained to tune them out.

You can also try Matched Content if you have another content you’d like to promote.

Pro tip: Use Auto Ads by Google

Adsense Auto Ads take advantage of machine learning and place themselves automatically on your site where Google thinks they will perform well.

Google has been testing the Auto Ads feature as a beta since September of 2017 and recently (early March) released this feature to everyone.

Since Google has millions (if not billions) of sites to test, they will most likely be better than you or me when figuring out the right type and placement of the ads.

The only downside of this is that you won’t have much control of how many ads are shown or where they are placed, which if you are picky, might annoy you.

To set up Auto ads on your site, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. In the left navigation panel, click My ads.
  3. Click Auto ads.
  4. On the “Choose your global settings” page, use the controls to select the ad formats that you’d like to show.
  5. Leave Automatically get new formats selected if you want AdSense to automatically add new ad formats to your global settings as they become available.
  6. Click Save.
  7. On the “Place code on your page” page, click Copy code.
  8. Paste the ad code between the <head> and </head> tags of each page where you want to show Auto ads. If you’re not sure how to do this, see Google’s Code implementation guide.

Which exact keywords pay the most CPC on Adsense?

SEMrush did a nice study on some of the best keywords by country here.

If you are looking for exact top paying keywords such as mesothelioma which pays $1000+ per click, you can check out the list compiled of 1M+ AdSense keywords by GrepWords. For instance, they reported the ultimate top paying keyword “mesothelioma survival rates” at $1006.56 per click.

Here are a few of my favourite top paid keywords per industry found through SEMRush (data for 2017, 2018 and 2019, 2020):

Mesothelioma Keywords sorted by CPC

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that lines the lungs, stomach, heart, and other organs, and unfortunately can’t be cured. Nevertheless, treatment can help reduce pain. People that contracted mesothelioma did so at their jobs so that is why you see searches like “mesothelioma attorneys”, “mesothelioma law firms” and “mesothelioma compensation”.

This is a very competitive keyword set so unless you can outrank WebMD and MayoClinic, I suggest you look for other industries.

I threw this one in because the crypto space is just so hot right now. These keywords are not the highest paying on my article roundup but I expect their cost per click to rise in the coming years.

Aside: I personally just love blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Actually, I love it so much that with my company Flux Ventures we launched an entire division just to buy and sell bitcoin and alt-coins.

Aw man, you still forgot my industry…

No worries, you can find all these keywords (and more!) by going into SEMRush and clicking on Keyword Analytics > Phrase Match (or Related Keywords), typing the keyword(s) that you want and then sorting by cost-per-click.

Here are other ideas to do keyword hunting.

Now, onto my favorite part. The bonuses.

Bonus #1: Target these countries if you want to earn 10x more

Aiming for the right countries can really skyrocket your adsense earnings. Here are the top 10 countries to target:

No.CountryAvg. CPC ($)Max. CPC ($)Avg. CTR %Average RPM ($)
1United States (US)0.40 – 2.3>502-32.04
2Canada0.50 – 2>3021.83
3United Kingdom (UK)0.10 – 1.6>191-21.37
4Germany0.40 – 1>111-32.62
5Thailand0.30 – 1621.6
6United Arab Emirates (UAE)0.15 – 3.11142.07
7Japan0.20 – 0.85432.44
8Switzerland0.20 – 1632.35
9Italy0.10 – 0.5031-30.73

If you take a look at this chart, you will notice that most of the countries on this list are first-world countries.

How do you target a particular country in your blog?

The easiest way is to blog in their native language. To get visitors from Canada, the US, UK or Australia, your blog must be in English. Similarly, write in German if you are looking for people from Deutschland.

You may also change your targeting settings under Search Console.

Bonus #2: Unlock even more revenue by blocking low CPC ads

As a publisher, you have a good amount of control as to which Ad Categories you want to show on your site.

If you are trying to raise the CPC, RPM or CPM of your Adsense ads, then I suggest you take a look at your ad performance and start blocking categories that are not paying well.

Here’s how you can do that.

  1. Go to Adsense and on the left-hand column click on “Blocking Controls > Content> All Sites”
  2. Click on “General Categories”
  3. Sort by % Earnings (Ascending).
  4. In there you can take a look at which ads are taking a good amount of impressions but generating relatively low earnings.
    • For instance, let’s say the “Hobbies Games & Leisure” category is taking 4% of impressions yet just making 0.7% of your revenue, you can try and block it, and see if your performance improves.

You may also experiment by blocking certain ad networks. I haven’t personally tried this, but some people claim it works.

A word of caution: Don’t block too many categories (or ad networks) or else you will significantly reduce the bid competition and will start driving your revenue down.

Pro tip: Run Optimization Experiments

You can always run an Experiment (found under Optimization > Experiments) and see if blocking your ads yields more revenue or not.

You can also test if showing 50% of your total ads vs. 100% of ads yields more revenue.

Google Adsense experiments typically last for 10-30 days, up to 100 days (depending on your experiment and traffic).

For instance, I am running the experiment of blocking certain categories, and as you can see below I already started to see some good results (unfortunately Adsense policies prevent me from sharing the exact numbers).

Bonus #3: Steal your competitor’s lunch (aka. find which keywords are driving the most revenue to them)

What if you could view which keywords gets your competition the most clicks and revenue?

I’ll show you how I do it.

The process is very simple and uses SEMRush. (7 day free trial)

All you have to do is:

  1. Find any authority site in your niche. (For the sake of example in online marketing, I will use my own site)
  2. Type that site on the search bar in SEMRush
  3. Scroll to “Top Organic Keywords” and click on “See Full Report”
  4. On that report, sort by CPC.
  5. Voilá, you have a list of potential keywords that you can now use.
  6. Rinse and repeat with other sites that you admire.

Once you do this process with 3-5 sites, you will have a good set of keywords that you can target. (By the way, you can hire someone on Fiverr or Freeeup [my favorite] to write quality articles for you so you don’t have to actually spend time doing it.)

Bonus #4: Find more high paying keywords using Search Console

Did you know that Google already provides you with the keywords that you rank for?

What if you could optimize your existing blog posts to target even better keywords?

Instead of spending tons of hours writing a thorough post, you could use update an old one and pick juicier keywords.

Here’s how.

  1. Install the Keywords Everywhere Chrome Extension
  2. Head to the Search Analytics under the Google Webmasters Tools
  3. Choose your website
  4. Be sure to check the Clicks, Impressions, CTR and Position boxes at the top
    google webmaster adsense keywords
  5. Filter by any specific page that you want keywords to show for: i.e.
  6. Since you installed the Keywords Everywhere tool you will see an additional 3 columns on your list, namely: Monthly Volume, CPC and Competition
how to find high cpc keywords
  7. Unfortunately, you can’t sort by CPC so you will have to copy all the data into a spreadsheet and sort it there. I suggest you hit the Show 500 rows at the bottom of Webmaster tools.
  8. I made a Google sheet for you that you can copy (File > Make a Copy..) to sort all your keywords.
  9. Copy and paste all your keywords, and then hit the arrow on the column of CPC and sort from Z->A

    top paying keywords adsense
  10. Voila, you will see all the keywords that your blog post ranks for, all ranked from highest CPC to lowest CPC.
    sorted cpc keywords top paying

As you can see this last trick will yield keywords that might not be applicable to your blog post. In my case, “mesothelioma lawyer directory” does not apply to this specific post so I will just ignore it.

However, it will also find keywords that I am already getting impressions like “top paying keywords” but for which I am still ranked on page #2. The secret here is now to extend my existing blog post to include that new keyword so that my page gets bumped to page #1.

Pro tip: You can also sort by Volume or competition to find other hidden gems.

(Remember that now with the new RankBrain algorithm you shouldn’t target each specific long tail keyword but rather target medium-tail keywords that cover a broader topic.)

Related: Remember you can also show ads on Youtube (here’s a fun guide to Youtube SEO).

so, how can you make $100 a day with Adsense?

I don’t know about you, but 100 bucks a day on ads sounds like a good passive income to me ($3k/mo).

Let’s run some calculations to see what it would take to make $100/day on Adsense.

First, some assumptions.

  • You are targeting US readers (as we saw earlier, US ads pay the most on average)
  • Your CTR (click-through rate) is 1% (i.e. 1% of visitors click on ads)
  • Your CPC is $0.50 (your niche is strong but your site is just getting started)
  • Your RPM (revenue per 1000 impressions) is $2

With these numbers, we can now calculate how many visitors we need to earn our target amount.

The formula is = Visitors * CTR * CPC + Visitors/1000 * RPM

So with 15,000 visitors per day we obtain around $100/day on Adsense.

(15,000 * 1% * $0.5 + 15,000/1000*$2 = $105/day)

But how do you obtain 15,000 page views per day? Is that reasonable?

Yes, it is reasonable. To do that, you can either

Are there any website problems that need repairing?

Minor changes in how a website looks or works may not actually require a full redesign. Most of these alterations can be done on their own, without needing to change the entire website. For example, new company logos can be designed separately, then placed onto the specific pages of the site. However, other major website alterations need an entire overhaul, for example:

• How several pages are designed

• The software used for the site

• How clients move from one page to another on the website

The website should be performing at its optimum

how content marketing works

How Does Content Marketing Work?

So, exactly how does content marketing work? What are the benefits of building and executing a content marketing strategy?

What Is Content Marketing?

Content marketing is a marketing program that centres on creating, publishing, and distributing content for your target audience -- usually online -- the goal of which is to attract new customer.

One important way is to keep your marketing strategy current, if not ahead of the curve.

Why Businesses Need a Content Marketing Strategy

Content marketing is more than a buzzword—it’s a vital part of a successful marketing strategy. Today’s buyers demand creative, relevant and compelling content from the brands that are important to them.

Content marketing fills this need by creating impactful content and optimizing its distribution across a wide range of channels and customer touch points, engaging specific market segments at precise points in the buying process.

Producing good content on a consistent basis is the best marketing strategy for businesses in this generation. Content marketing is smart because the content is the currency of the internet.

Why Content Is the Most Important Part of  Your Digital Marketing Strategy

3. Content Drives Social Media Strategies

Your social media platforms are one of the best ways to connect with your target audience. As a powerful tool for establishing genuine relationships with your customer base, social media gives you a direct pathway to have conversations, get feedback, and push new leads to your website. However, this is all fueled by strong content creation.

1.  Have a plan.

This may seem like a no-brainer, but having a plan before you do anything else in your content marketing will make your content more targeted and its production more consistent.

Know what your company’s overall objective is for the content, know what the purpose of each kind of content will be and its value to readers. After researching your target audiences, you’ll have a clearer picture of what content to write, the tone of the content, and when and where it should be posted.

When distributing content, different platforms require different frequency of posting. Twitter, for instance requires multiple posts a day while with Facebook, you can get away with once a day. Building an editorial content calendar will be an important part of this pre-content plan.

|Get a free website report and use it as the foundation of your plan.|

2.  Know your audience.

You won’t get many sales and conversions if the content you share with your customers are on subjects they could care less about or identify with.

When writing for your audience, keep your content relevant to the industry you’re in and focus on how your company’s products or services can help solve a consumer’s problem. You can use different analysis tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook Insights to get an idea of the demographics of your website visitors.

Armed with an idea of the people who visit your company’s website, you can better judge what kinds of topics and what style you can use in blog posts, social media posts, and website content.

Going a step further, you can create consumer personas that represent each of your company’s demographic groups. Write content pieces addressing the questions and concerns and interests of each persona. Your personas will also help you identify what tone and messaging in the content will most resound with them.

3.  Know when and where to post.

You can write the best blog post of your life, but if it is posted on a site or social media platform your audience doesn’t use or at a time when most of your audience is offline, it will likely disappear into the noise and information of the Internet.

Your social media manager should know, for instance, that most of your company’s Facebook fans are online Friday afternoons from 2-4pm. If your company doesn’t have a dedicated social media manager or department, most website and social media analytics tools will have a feature where you can see the most and least popular time's people visit your site and social media channels and where people are coming from to get your site.

Knowing your audience will also give you an idea as to what websites and industry/business blogs they regularly visit and what social media channels they utilize to engage with each other on.

4.  Quality over quantity.

It can be tempting to continuously pump out content. Your audience, however, doesn’t want more content, they want quality content that is interesting, valuable and informative.

Visitors to your site come because they trust you and believe you’ll answer their question or address their concerns. An abundance of low-quality content will only take up space and viewers won’t bother reading it.

Nobody doesn’t want their content not read. High-quality posts will get more attention, engagement and shares which should be the goals of a solid content strategy.

5.  Mix up content.

There are many ways you can share content online. The text is the most popular and most expected form of content, but there are a lot of things you can do with images and video.

how content marketing works

Video is becoming a popular content medium that companies are starting to utilize more. By having a variety of content, you increase your company’s chances of reaching more people in your diverse target audiences.

6.  Experiment.

What type of content gives you the most traffic? Again, you can use an analytics program to determine which type and subject of content get the most attention.

Does your audience love “how-to” articles, inspirational stories, videos? Focus on producing content that draws the most eyeballs. Don’t forget to still vary the content.

7.  Focus on people, not search engines.

Answering your readers’ questions needs to be the goal of everything you write.

When you take the time to craft quality content that is of value to the reader, your audience will appreciate it and share it with others. They’ll also be more likely to trust your company and take the desired actions.

While implementing keywords into content is still an essential part of getting your website some online exposure, they should be used appropriately. Keyword-stuffed content will do you no good. Not only will your audience see right through your promotional plug, but search engines will also be on the look-out for such content and will penalize you.

8.  Optimize your content.

As the previous point brought up, it would be amiss to not discuss using keywords to optimize your company’s content.

Content, like other aspects of internet marketing, is enhanced when it is correctly optimized for search engines. To make your content more effective, try to target one or two keywords in a piece of content.

For text content, this is easy to do. For images and videos, however, more work is involved. For posts with videos and images, use keywords in the title, headings and topic introduction or summary. Keywords should also be inserted into the ALT tags, file names and meta descriptions.

9.  Test, analyze and improve.

As mentioned earlier, it is important to experiment and test which content gets you the most traffic and generates the most conversions.

Regular analysis of your content will enable you to see the patterns in what content clicks with your audience. You can then use this as inspiration for additional content ideas. Then, when you see what works, you will also see the kind of content that doesn’t work.

If your content isn’t as effective as you’d like it to be, some revamping and revising of your content strategy may be in order. Knowing where your content is falling short will equip you to make the necessary improvements.

Your content marketing strategy can take many forms, and your company goals and your audience will play the biggest parts in dictating your tactics.

A strong content marketing strategy is a long-term process that involves much hard work and time to properly implement. Top 8 Video Marketing Trends For 2019

Full Guide to Video Marketing Trends for Businesses in 2019

For the past two years, video content has encountered a remarkable ascent in prominence as a tool for advertising. Regardless of whether you are doing your week by week online shop, playing Candy Crush or investigating the speediest method to venture out to your close relative's home, it's there. Have you at any point signed on to Facebook to make up for lost time with your companions, and logged off an hour later having spared a delicious new formula and purchased another, innovative combine of socks? You're not alone. Such is the unquestionable intensity of Video Marketing.

Check out the full list of trends in the video below:

1. Video is Turning 360:

The ongoing appearance of 360-degree video content empowers watchers to control their point of view for a progressively vivid intuitive experience.

360 degree recordings are on the ascent, close by computer generated reality.

By furnishing clients with a more 3-Dimensional, vivid experience through video, they nearly feel like they are in that spot, despite the fact that they may be in their PJs, eating Jerky on the couch.

These sorts of recordings are especially helpful apparatuses for those in the movement and the travel industry. Following quite a while of sightseers griping "it's not at all like it was in the pamphlet", they would now be able to get the full picture. Truth be told, if a goal or lodging doesn't stay aware of this pattern, potential clients may start to ponder what they are stowing away.

2. Video is Getting Search-Friendly:

AI and the utilization of shut subtitles are making video content increasingly accessible. Man-made intelligence can decipher the soundtracks of video with voice acknowledgement to make video accessible. Google even as of late announced the expansion of video sneak peaks to the video merry go round that shows up in indexed lists.

3. Narrating Hooks the Audience

  • To get results with your video showcasing, you have to realize how to snare the gathering of people, and narrating is an unquestionable requirement nowadays.
  • In reality, 92% of clients need brands to make promotions feel like a story. In addition, recounting your image story well, you inspire an opportunity to expand the estimation of an item or administration by more than multiple times. Not exclusively will narrating snare your clients, however, it will likewise refine your image.
  • Obviously, there's nobody measure fits-all strategy to make stories that reason a buzz around your image. Be that as it may, being inventive is a demonstrated method to trial and discover what functions admirably for your image. For instance, McDonald's knows the speciality of stories that move, so its recordings bring a large number of perspectives inside a brief timeframe.

4. The Rise of Vertical Video and IGTV

As indicated by eMarketer, 78.4% of computerized video watchers use cell phones to watch recordings. These days, there are 270 million cell phone clients in the United States and 94% of the time we hold our telephones vertically, so the vertical video is on its ascent. For brands, it implies the interest for a vertical video to address clients' issues.

Since Instagram realizes organizations need to fulfill their clients' needs, it's no big surprise IGTV, a long-frame in-application video centre point, was propelled. With IGTV, brands can transfer recordings that last up to an hour, so there's no compelling reason to utilize the two channels, Instagram and Youtube, to accomplish advertising objectives.

While private ventures don't hurry to utilize this element, huge docs like MAC Cosmetics plunge into IGTV to connect with clients and assemble mark mindfulness.

5. Invite the world to your party

Broadcasting live? Indeed. It might appear to be overwhelming a few, however, in the event that your business is to stay aware of the pattern, it's something you will need to consider.

The proceeded with advancement of Social Media stages is driving this. Take a gander at Instagram's dispatch of Live Streaming toward the start of 2018. Indeed, with 50 million a larger number of clients than Snapchat, Instagram is driving numerous patterns in Video Marketing and is unquestionably one to watch. Likewise, Facebook Live communicates have multiplied year on year since its dispatch in 2016. On the off chance that you are yet to grasp the intensity of Social Media, it's a great opportunity to get on board, make companions with it and treat it like an accomplice.

The longing for live substance is without a doubt developing in quality. Actually, upwards of 13% of web traffic from video originates from live recordings. Here are a couple of reasons why:

  • Economical

Broadcasting live gets rid of whenever and venture recently utilized underway and altering. The video at that point stays on the stage, prepared to be shared and reposted.

  • Authentic

Target groups of onlookers are bound to confide in live spilling. They realize it hasn't been doctored and it overflows credibility.

  • Compelling

Users spend three times longer observing live videos online contrasted with their pre-recorded partners. The immediacy and saw peril engaged with a live communicate is enormously convincing.

6." Vlogging" for business

Vlogging has turned out to be colossal on Youtube. Vloggers film different parts of their day by day lives whether they be everyday, such as getting ready breakfast, or energizing, such as taking some time off. Organizations and business visionaries have gradually been attacking the vlogging worldlately; and in 2019, you can anticipate that this training should turn out to be considerably increasingly mainstream. Reason? Vlogging gives your watchers a look into your life and can enable you to shape a superior association with your group of onlookers.

7. It’s still cool to be slick

Recordings don't just need to concentrate on offering and advancement to receive money related benefits. E-learning recordings can profit the two customers and representatives.

Preparing days can be a bad dream for representatives. Removing multi day from their bustling timetable to sit in a heartless space to tune in to somebody talk at them about the significance of spreadsheet support is a long way from engaging.

Video can pass on far beyond words, especially on the off chance that it is a dubious or, might we venture to state, dull subject. In only a couple of edges, liveliness can say unmistakably in excess of an entire day in a stuffy preparing room can. Likewise, by utilizing video, you can prepare more workers at any one time – they can even learn in the solace of their own home, setting aside some cash for the business on all fronts.

For customers, E-learning keeps on being an adaptable, available choice for those with occupied ways of life need to learn new aptitudes. You can even incorporate substance preparing and showcasing by offering a course as a reward for clients who consent to share their information. Win-win!

8. 6-Second Video Ads

Vine may have kicked the bucket in mid-2017, yet the legend of its six-second recordings lives on in mainstream culture through uncontrollably well known YouTube arrangements. There's no uncertainty this super-short organization caught our consideration, so it bodes well that it's finding new life in publicizing.

Prodded as right on time as 2017 from brands, for example, Google and Youtube, the six-second video advert is balanced for an out and out upset in 2019. Studies have proposed that nine out of 10 six-second advertisements drive promotion review and a healthy 61 percent lift mark mindfulness. Nibble measured promotions have even made it communicate TV with systems like FOX executing split-screen breaks to demonstrate 6-second adverts in their National Football League communicates.

For video producers and advertisers, the push towards shorter substance isn't amazement. As rivalry for buyer consideration expands, the interest has been for shorter, more intelligent narrating; six-second advertisements are only the following cycle in the pattern of snackable substance. Be that as it may, with these promotions assuming a job in substantially paid crusades, there's a major spotlight on ROI, and more brands will work to figure out the code of the ideal short shape advertisement.

The medium presents evident difficulties for narrating and altering. Notwithstanding, for video advertisers with the correct frame of mind the balanced canvas estimate just opens new innovative chances, as you would already be able to find in probably the best six-second promotions to date.
